Cultivar: Qingxin Ganzhong
Harvested by hand: Winter 2024
Origin: SanHsia, north Taiwan
Process: light oxidation, striped, scented with real osmanthus flowers growing at the tea farm, well dried. No artificial scents.
1. View
The dry leaves are dark green and rather small. The brew is yellow with a great clarity. Some leaves can be quite oxidized, because when you bring tea leaves in contact with flowers, the tea absorbs some of their moisture along with the scents. This leads to some oxidation and explains why the tea has to be dried afterwards. There are some dry flower petals in the dry tea, but they mostly disappear during the brew. Overall, the leaves have a light oxidation, which means light aromas.
2. Scents
Dry, the osmanthus scents are not overpowering. They dominate the scents of the Baozhong, but don't erase it. The brew's osmanthus fragrances are wonderful: pure and natural. In the mouth, these flowery scents are replaced by the scents of the Baozhong.
3. Taste
Clean and sweet, this tea has a long and powerful aftertaste.
Conclusion: The quality of this tea continues to improve. Both the tea and the osmanthus are organically grown by the farmer. This adds to the natural scent and taste of Osmanthus Baozhong.
