This thin and tall shaped cup is used exclusively to smell the aromas of a brew. You would first fill this scenting cup with tea, then empty it in a classic cup. The best way to do so is to cover the scenting cup with the classic up, hold them pressed together, flip both upside down and then remove the scenting cup so that it fills the classic cup. Now that the scenting cup is emptied, all the fragrances of the tea are concentrated inside the empty cup. You may smell the inside of the cup and marvel at how the scents evolve as the cup cools down.
