Yan Lu means 'rock milk'. It's one of the rarest and best Yan Cha cultivar, because its taste is all about the mineral taste that is so typical of real Yan Cha. This tea comes from a plantation on Bi Shi Yan (jade stone cliff), in the heart of WuYi, the birthplace of Oolong tea. The unique quality of Yan Cha comes from the fact that it's just harvested in spring, just once a year, that it grows on rocky soil (just like Lu Yu wrote is best) and that it's skillfully charcoal roasted in a way that preserves the tea's freshness. After 6 years of aging, this tea is ready to be enjoyed.
