Cultivar: Wuyi cultivar
Harvested by hand: April 2020
Origin: Pinglin, Wenshan
Process: Large, whole twisted leaves, high roast.
1. View
The big dry leaves have a dark brown color. The brew has an excellent lack of turbidity and a brown color indicating a high roasting level. The leaves open up well and are not burned, but slowly roasted to preserved their aromas.
2. Scents
The dry scent of the leaves is intense and sweet wood/farm scents. The brew is also very woody, but adds dark fruity tones..
3. Taste
The taste is soft and pure. Its aftertaste has depth, sweetness and finesse.
Conclusion: This Baozhong's flavor profile is very similar to traditional Wuyi Yan Cha in terms of view, scent, but it's sweeter and doesn't display the dry rock taste of the Wuyi terroir. Instead, it has the sweet taste of Taiwanese Oolongs.
