Cultivar: Tu Cha (unspecified, old cultivar)
Harvested by hand on April 8th, 2019

Origin: Anji, Zhejiang. China
Process: white tea dried in shade for several days according to the Fuding (Fujian) method.

1. View

The leaves are whole and vary from full leaves to white tips. They take a lot of space, because they haven't been rolled at all. That's because the white tea process of simple drying keeps them in their original shape. But the color of the leaves is green with some brown, because the leaves have oxidized a bit during the long drying time.

The brew has a bright orange color with an excellent transparency.

2. Scents

The dry leaves have a natural, high pitched scent with hints of lilac. The brew's scent is very light and flowery. It combines notes of fresh lilac and raw Oriental Beauty.

3. Taste

The taste is very soft and sweet. It feels lighter and very different from Oolong tea. But this one has more aftertaste than the previous white tea from my selection (of fall 2016). This one should therefore age even better!
