The clay is modern zhuni, a red clay with little porosity. It was fired at a high temperature: the cover produces a high pitched sound when it touches the body of the teapot.
The details of this teapot show very good craftsmanship. The long walls under the cover are typical of ancient designs. The handle's shape looks like a ear. And the spout is curved like a woman's leg.
It was made in Yixing approximately 10 years ago and is in excellent condition.
This teapot has a single hole.
It performs best with unroasted Oolongs or high quality puerh. The scents of the tea come out strong and bright.
The seal under the teapot is "Shao Ya Ting zhi".
