The shape of this teapot is called 梨形 (Lí xíng) or pear shaped. The clay is modern zhuni, a hard red clay with little porosity. It was fired at a high temperature: the cover produces a high pitched sound when it touches the body of the teapot.
The details of this teapot show good craftsmanship. The spout is curved like a beautiful leg. The knob is easy to grab. The handle looks like a human ear. The water flow can be stopped by pressing on the knob.
This teapot was made about 10 years ago and is in good condition. It has a small single hole.
It performs very well with unroasted Oolongs or young sheng puerh. The scents of the tea come out strong and bright.
The carved characters under the teapot are "Pan Shi Cheng".
